Despite higher prices, India is set to import the biggest ever volumes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the United States in June as it seeks to replace still-constrained supply from the Middle East.

India is estimated to receive between 1.1 million and 1.2 million tons of America’s LPG this month, Indian refining sources toldReuters on Tuesday.

These would be a record high, and nearly double the 648,300 tons of LPG from the U.S. imported in May, as per Kpler data cited by Reuters.

India’s LPG imports from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also set to double in June compared to May, to about 300,000 tons, up from around 135,000 tons last month.
